Rile 'Em Up
For this physics side of the Rile 'Em Up project, we had to create butterflies that would light up and flap their wings. We learned about the mechanical system and electrical circuits before doing this project, because this is knowledge is needed for this project. Creating my butterfly was a big challenge for me, and the hardest part was the mechanical system. I got a lot of help from Mr. Schwartz. I had a hard time with the motor and had to replace is 3 times. I am really grateful for Mr. Schwartz's help, and would have probably been not as successful as I was without his help. My biggest struggle for this project was the mechanical system. This is because I had to replace my motor 3 times, and my wood kept on splitting. I also had to start over many times due to these issues. However, with Mr. Schwartz's help, I eventually overcame this problem and came up very successful. I learned a lot about electrical circuits during this project. I learned what L.E.D lights are, what resistors, are etc. I also learned how to find the resistance in something as well. I worked really diligently from the start of this project. However, I feel that I was working pretty slowly and had to rush to get everything done at the end. This was very stressful and If I were to do this problem again, I will definitely work faster from the beginning. In the very beginning of this project I didn't know how I would create the butterflies at all, I think it would have been good if I knew what to expect. I was very confused in the beginning of this project as well and i think it would have been beneficial if we were more informed.
